Trainer with 72% record in bumpers at Clonmel sends one there on Friday

Clonmel Racecourse

It is never a surprise to learn of another Willie Mullins domination stat when it comes to racing. His record in Clonmel bumpers, however, even for him, is one that is almost unbelievable.

In the last five seasons, Mullins has send eighteen horses to run in Clonmel bumpers, retuning with thirteen winners, a strike rate of 72%! Two more have finished second and two fourth for a level stakes profit of +£30.02. Mullins sends just one runner to Clonmel on Friday to run in the closing bumper.

It is an excellent Friday of racing elsewhere with cards at Sandown, York, Chepstow and Fairyhouse in the afternoon. Goodwood, Aintree and Newton Abbot take over in the evening in a busy day for our horse racing tips.

5.10 Clonmel – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race

Dani Barcelona is the fifth foal of Dani Califonia, the other four all winning races with two of them successful in bumpers. She makes her debut at Clonmel in a race where those in opposition who have prior experience don’t set much in the way of an exacting standard.

She is a sister to Olly Murphy’s African Dance who is a dual winner from his first six starts. Those were novice hurdles at Plumpton and Sedgefield but enough for him to be given a rating of 122, while her half-brother Encore Champs was 135 at his peak.

Bred to be at least good enough to win races, it has to go down as interesting that Mullins sends her to this particular track for her debut. She is sure to have been given plenty of work at home to be straight on debut and this ground should be absolutely fine for her. She may not be a massive price but she looks all over another winner for the Mullins bandwagon in a Clonmel bumper.
