Trainer with 33% strike-rate in the last two weeks bids for 42-1 Exeter double

Tuesday’s racing comes from five venues, as Exeter, Gowran Park, Yarmouth, Newcastle and Kempton all host action. We’ll have horse racing tips for all five, including a NAP of the Day, Accumulator and Lucky 15 tips.

Momentum is key in any sport and it’s the same case in horse racing. One trainer who is riding that wave is Milton Harris, who has scored with eight of his last 24 runners. That 33% strike-rate is not to be scoffed at and he has two very strong chances on Tuesday. They make into an 42-1 double and all the analysis is below!

2.05 Exeter – Exeter Staying Handicap Hurdle

The first of his chances is the seven-year-old Khan, who we’ve seen just the twelve times over hurdles thus far. He was formerly a flat runner in France, but he’s progressed into a useful hurdler since joining Harris in Britain.  He’s won on three occasions, latterly on his most recent start at Huntingdon.

Having just his fourth start beyond three miles, he saw out the trip powerfully and pulled clear late to score by four lengths. A four-pound rise for that comfortable victory is far from harsh and he may benefit from even more of a test today. He remains unexposed as a stayer and another victory is more than plausible, especially as the rain won’t be an issue.

3.50 Exeter – South West “Junior” National Hunt Flat Race

In the same colours, Americano bids to make a winning bumper debut for Harris in the finale. None of these runners have any form in the book, which makes this harder to analyse, but this son of Maxios has just the profile for this 1m 5f junior bumper.

He’s a half-brother to German winners Amora and Achat, with his Dam being a Group 3 winner and also being closely related to Amarillo, another Group 3 scorer. A flat pedigree is always good for these events and Harris does have the occasion bumper winner. Market support would be interesting, but a case can certainly be made for this three-year-old.
