Trainer who’s 4/8 in last five years and 2/2 here in 2021 heads to Lingfield with 1 runner.

Knight To Behold beats Kew Gardens in the Lingfield Derby Trial

It has not been often that Rod Millman has sent three-year olds to run on the turf at Lingfield. Just eight runners in the last five years on the grass at the track but they have yielded four winners for a level stakes profit of +£7.55. They include a perfect 2/2 so far in 2021, with Wednesday’s runner one of the winners.

The turf course at Lingfield has been Millman’s most successful across his long career, with a level stakes profit of +£28.48 since taking out a license in 1989. For a yard based in Devon, a 346-mile round trip away, that just adds to the interest of the figures.

There are also cards at Catterick, Uttoxeter, Yarmouth, Wolverhampton and Killarney on Wednesday for our horse racing tips to go over.

A winner over this course and distance in May from five pounds lower, Greycious Girl has the benefit of Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle for this assignment. The ground was soft when she won here two months back so she will relish conditions. It’s easy enough to excuse her Polytrack run here last time as she is yet to get close to her turf best on synthetics.

Soft ground looks to suit her well, that win at this track six pounds above anything else she has produced in her career so far. She has to prove that she is capable of repeating that, but at least she has the same track and conditions on which to make that bid.

The record of her yard here is another interesting factor to her chances as described above. Oisin Murphy has done well for the stable in the past and they continue to tick over nicely. This is a tougher race but her price has some juice in it from an each-way perspective and it would not be a surprise to see her hit the frame.
