Top jockey who is +£40.51 at Yarmouth bids for 252-1 Tuesday treble

Yarmouth Racecourse

It’s another busy day of action, as we have five meetings to keep us entertained on Tuesday. Exeter, Gowran Park, Yarmouth and Newcastle are the afternoon meetings, with an All-Weather card at Kempton filling out the evening. As always, our horse racing tips will help point you towards some winners.

One jockey who enjoys winners is Jamie Spencer, especially at Yarmouth. In the last five years, he’s ridden 175 times at the venue, winning on 40 occasions. That 23% strike-rate has heralded a very healthy return of £40.51 to level stakes and he has some very interesting chances on Tuesday, including a 33-1 shot! The treble pays 252-1, including that big-price, and you can see all the details below.

1.23 Yarmouth – British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes

A 33-1 shot isn’t standard fare for an accumulator, but given Spencer’s record, you couldn’t rule out Cromarty at a huge price. Granted, she does need exponential improvement on what she’s achieved thus far, but she’s well-bred and surely capable of better for an in-form yard.

She did show promise amongst greenness on her course and distance debut, but her latest run at Wolverhampton is very difficult to pick positives from. A return to the turf should help matters, however, and it’s still very early days. I wouldn’t blame you if you omitted her, but rule her totally out at your peril.

1.55 Yarmouth – British EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes

Undoubtedly his best chance of the day, Clithroe has above-average claims for the same connections in the second race of the day. A daughter of Ribchester, she was beaten just a head on debut at Newbury, where she was ultimately very unlucky as she had to wait for room at a crucial stage.

She was pitched into Group 3 company on her next start at Glorious Goodwood and she acquitted herself well, running green but staying on well into fifth. This is much calmer waters for her and setting a very daunting standard on the figures, she is the one they all have to beat.

5.23 Yarmouth – Read Kevin Blake On attheraces.com Handicap

The card ends with a very competitive handicap, but Shamarouski has standout claims for Michael Wigham. He’s won once since joining Wigham from Ireland, landing a handicap at Chelmsford by a short-head.  He’s remained in good form in two subsequent starts, latterly when beaten a short-head at Nottingham.

Wigham now reaches for the tongue-tie and if that has the desired effect, a two-pound rise may not be enough to stop him from going in again. He goes well fresh, so a small break is another big positive, and he remains totally unexposed as a sprinter too.
