Horse racing is in Liam's blood and his biggest passion is jumps racing. He can often be found at his favourite tracks; Chepstow and Cheltenham in the Autumn when the National Hunt action kicks off. In his own words: "I'm often referred to as a walking form book, a trait which comes in handy from time to time. My proudest tipping success to date was landing a whopping 682-1 accumulator at Epsom."
Chester Williams has a 100 per cent record at Ffos Las so far this season and he’s set to be represented by one runner there on Thursday, so we’ve assessed his chances. There are plenty of excellent races to look forward to this weekend so we’ve picked out some ante-post angles to consider and there’s an impeccably bred newcomer of note running at Punchestown, who could be worth keeping an eye on. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Chester Williams has two winners from two runners at Ffos Las so far this season so his sole representative at the track on Thursday warrants close consideration.
Loki’s Mischief landed back-to-back victories here in May and he coped well with the step up to three miles when scoring by three lengths on the second occasion. Very below-par at Worcester on his reappearance, he’s clearly better than that and should take a significant step forward this time around.
Princeton is an impeccably bred colt and the son of Frankel is a full-brother to the excellent Lake Victoria, who won four Group 1s, including the Irish 1000 Guineas. His dam was a Group 1-winning sprinter as well, which means he’s bred to go to the very top, and expectations will be high on debut.
Haiti Couleurs (7/2, bet365) produced a monster performance to win the Welsh National off a mark of 154 in December and managed to win the Denman Chase with plenty in hand next time. Thins didn’t go to plan at the spring festivals but provided there’s enough ease in the ground, he won’t be far away here.
Doyen Quest (10/1, bet365) was comfortably beaten in a Grade 1 at Aintree last spring but took a big step forward to win the Grade 2 Oaksey Chase at Sandown with plenty in hand. There could be more to come from him this season and he looks capable of making his presence felt at this level.
