Top Irish yard send first ever runner to Stratford on Sunday

Stratford Racecourse

Summer jumper runners from Ireland are common enough from the smaller yards, especially in the north. Stratford, however, would not be a track that most tend to aim at and generally not coming from a yard as powerful as that of Joseph O’Brien. This is a fair pot to hunt with more than £12,200 on offer to the winner which can make the trip worthwhile.

Most Irish eyes will be on the excellent card at the Curragh on Sunday plus an all chase card at Tipperary. Newton Abbot and Redcar hold the fort for our horse racing tips on this side of the Irish Sea.

Us And Them will be a name well known to racing fans in this country, third in the Grand Annual at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival having finished second in the Arkle at the 2019 meeting. Things have not always been straightforward for him since, proving troublesome to win with but he is the undoubted class in this race.

It’s fair to say that his opponents are generally of a deeper level than those that he will face on Sunday. He acts on any ground, has no problems with a sharp, left-handed track and his yard continue to bang in the winners.

O’Brien has sent runners to eight different U.K tracks so far in his short training career, winning at three of them. At the other five, he has picked up prize money with his horses right in the mix so they are never sent across just for a day out.

That trend should continue here at a level that is going to be well within the capabilities of Us And Them is he can produce anything like his best form.
