Fergal O’Brien sends two runners on the 762-mile round trip up to Perth on Thursday and as it’s Champions Day on Ascot on Saturday, we’ve selected an ante-post tip to keep an eye on. It’s fair to say that there are more local tracks than Perth that Fergal O’Brien can send his runners to but he has had seven previous winners there in the last five seasons. Both of his representatives at the Scottish course on Thursday have decent chances of coming out on top.
Dream Shadow is up against Dan Skelton’s Kabral Du Mathan on her first start over fences but she got the better of Cheltenham Festival winner White Noise when landing a Listed novice hurdle at Haydock on her most recent start. There could be more to come from her now tackling the larger obstacles.
Get Out Of My Way made his debut in a Market Rasen bumper back in December and produced a very professional performance to score by two-and-a-half lengths. Second in Listed company after that, the son of Getaway looks very capable of winning a maiden hurdle.
Aidan O’Brien won the inaugural running of the Two-Year-Old Conditions Stakes with Mission Central last term and Bengal Tiger could follow suit. This son of No Nay Never destroyed his rivals when winning a maiden by 12 lengths last time out and has the potential to go far on that evidence.
Patrick Neville’s 75 per cent strike-rate in the last fortnight certainly catches the eye and he’s set to be represented by three runners at Perth on Thursday. Last time out scorer Tanking Along is his best chance of a winner and he has only been put up 4lb for victory at Sedgefield.
