There’s action from Worcester, Brighton and Naas on Sunday and Adrian Wall has highlighted all of the interesting facts and stats, including why Marco Ghiani may be the man to follow at Brighton.
Marco Ghiani has a brilliant 23 per cent strike-rate at Brighton and has several mounts at the track on Sunday, but perhaps the most interesting of them all is Foreseen in the 7f handicap (4.20).
Trained by Tony Carroll, the son of Kingman won twice at Lingfield this season, on latest on the grass in May. He raced far too keenly when fifth of ten runners over 1m at Kempton 11 days ago but this is his first run at this course and Ghiani has won this contest three times in the last four years, all for Stuart Williams.
George Baker’s profit to a £1 level stakes when having one runner at a Flat meeting is £29.12 and that makes Marsh Benham of interest in the closing 1m handicap (4.50). This quirky sort is a three-time C&D winner who finished second here on reappearance before going on to score at Sandown. He ran no race at all in an amateur rider’s race at Salisbury on Friday but is of interest back here if turned out quickly.
Banned under the non-triers’ rule when last seen 113 days ago at Uttoxeter, it will be interesting to see what the market makes of Annual Invitation in the 2m maiden hurdle at Worcester (3.38). He hit the frame twice in Irish points and certainly wasn’t given a hard time when fifth at Uttoxeter last time. He might be one for handicaps after this but he certainly has the scope to improve. The market will guide here now.
