Saturday’s angles: ITV Outsiders, horses for courses and Harry Derham’s Perth runners

There are eight races live on ITV on Saturday so we’re back with more horses for courses and potentially overpriced outsiders. Harry Derham sends two runners on the 820-mile round trip to Perth, which is a rare occasion, so we’ve assessed the chances of both runners. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

ITV Outsiders

Seven Questions (18/1, bet365) landed a Goodwood handicap over this trip back in May and that victory came off a mark of 87. The handicapper dropped him 2lb off the back of his most recent effort and a return to form could well be on the cards.

Seven Questions

Northern Champion (33/1, bet365) managed to win a Listed contest over this trip at Chester on his penultimate start and is entitled to make the frame on that evidence. The shorter trip didn’t suit at Goodwood when last seen and an improved performance is expected, despite the step up in class.

Musical Touch (20/1, bet365) has won twice this season already and the five-year-old scored by a length off a 4lb lower mark at York in June. He wasn’t disgraced in a good race at York last time out and has the ability to make his presence felt here.

Horses for courses

Glory Hyde achieved back-to-back wins over course and distance in June, which gives Roger Fell’s mare a 50 per cent strike-rate here at Ripon. Her current mark is 3lb higher than her last winning one, having been dropped 1lb, so a big run can’t be ruled out.

Symbol Of Honour is unbeaten in two previous starts at Newbury and that definitely bodes well for a big run. Winning a Group 3 contest here over a shorter trip last time, he won’t be far away once again.

Eye Of Dubai hasn’t been in great form this season but he does have two wins and a second to his name in three previous starts at Ripon. Very well treated on his best form, he’s capable of winning this.

Harry Derham sends two runners to Perth

St Just In Time was a narrow second on his last start over hurdles in March 2025 and fitness won’t be an issue, as he’s had a couple of spins on the Flat. This looks like a winnable maiden hurdle so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he manages to get off the mark.

Filibustering is in fine form at the moment and he completed his hat-trick with an impressive success at Cartmel last time out. The five-year-old should still be ahead of the handicapper.
