Saturday gamble: Wolverhampton mover from 14-1 into 7-1

Wolverhampton Racecourse

The flat turf season starts today at Doncaster on ITV Racing but it’s the all-weather card at Wolverhampton tonight that has seen the most interesting market mover. Backers will have to wait until the final race of the day to find out if their gamble is successful. The price halved in only about an hour this morning, with the bookies taking evasive action. The 7/1 available in just one place at time of writing.

There is also action at Kempton, Kelso, Newbury and Navan in an action-packed Saturday on our free horse racing tips. We have selections at all the tracks, including Wolverhampton where we take a look at the big market mover in a little more detail.

Kaafy is the horse in question for trainer Grant Tuer. A winner at Southwell in November, he has dropped back to the same mark as when successful. Jack Mitchell is an interesting booking given that he is 5/13 when riding for this yard, those winners producing a level stake profit of +£3.60. That suggests that he is booked on the shorter prices for the stable.

He has never been the most consistent but his best effort on the all-weather came on this surface at Newcastle. There is also a close second to his credit over this course and distance from a pound higher than this last August so he is clearly well enough treated on his best form.

The Tuer yard have had a couple of winners and a second in their last nine runners so they are ticking over well enough at present. They have not quite had the luck at this track as they did in 2019 when notching up five winners from thirteen runners but Tuer is still a trainer more than capable of picking up the winners.
