We have been treated to some phenomenal racing action at Royal Ascot this week and Friday’s Day 4 card features two top-level races. Joseph O’Brien has landed the same number of winners as his father Aidan after the first two days and his red-hot form catches the eye. We’ve also spotted an intriguing US raider in the concluding race of the day, as well as some potentially overpriced outsiders. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
There’s a certain amount of pressure when you become a trainer and happen to be the son of arguably the greatest to ever do it but that isn’t stopping Joseph O’Brien. He is on three winners after the first two days of racing. level with his father Aidan. Lets take a look at his best chance on Day 4.
Ryan Moore is on board Emit for the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes and he’s very popular in the betting. The four-year-old might be better over further but a strong pace is all but guaranteed and that will bring him right into this.
He finished third behind Scandinavia in a Listed race at Navan in April and he should be capable of running well in a handicap off this sort of mark on that evidence.
Bacio certainly knows where the winning line is, as he has managed to come out on top in three of his four starts to date. It’s worth noting that two of those have come in sellers but US form probably translates less directly. The fact that Wesley Ward runs him is very interesting so keep an eye out!
French raider Valentina Bella (28/1, bet365) is unbeaten in two starts so far and was last seen winning over 5f in Listed company. She goes up to 6f for the first time here which does give her some questions to answer but the price looks too big on what she has achieved so far.
Alan King landed a Royal Ascot winner on Tuesday and Insanity (28/1, bet365) returned to form when finishing second last time out. This horse is pretty consistent on the whole and has proven himself to be competitive off this sort of mark. Don’t rule out a big run.
