Profitable five-time Pontefract winner goes for six on Monday

Pontefract races

We kick start the week with six meetings, as Leicester, Listowel, Gowran Park, Lingfield, Windsor and Pontefract on the agenda. With so much action, we’re spoilt for choice on our horse racing tips! We’ll have a NAP of the Day, accumulator and Lucky 15 tips, which can be found on site now.

Course form is essential to picking winners in racing. Certain horses will save their best for their favourite venues. That can be for a number of factors, but if you see a multiple course winner returning to their second home, it’s best to take notice. We’ve found a horse going for the big six at Pontefract on Monday and they’re a 9/1 shot! Find out all the details about the runner below.

6.15 Pontefract – Father’s Day Raceday On 20th June Handicap

A five-time course winner, Mr Orange simply loves his visits to Pontefract. It’d be fair to say that the Northern venue is his second home, having won five of his twenty-one visits. Overall, his course form in handicaps reads 32152421357651447301163125. As you can see, bad runs from this eight-year-old at Pontefract are rare, which makes his most recent run all the more disappointing.

Running in a higher grade, he missed the break and was never travelling, ultimately finishing well beaten in last. Excuses can perhaps be made, however, and he should find this far more suitable. The vast majority of his wins have come in bigger fields, so this task will be much more to his taste.

His most recent victory came off a mark of 70 and after that most recent defeat, he’s fallen back onto that rating. Firmer ground is another positive to his chances and Graham Lee, who is partnered him to three victories, retains the ride.

The fact he’s carrying ten-stone proves that he’s one of the class horses in this contest and with a strong pace to chase, he could easily pick up the pieces in the closing stages for Paul Midgley.
