Nigel Twiston-Davies Stable Update 30/03/2018

Nigel Twiston-Davies Weekly Column

Nigel has just about recovered from our trip to the yard on Wednesday morning (actually he said he enjoyed it and told us we are welcome back any time), and is having a relatively quiet weekend in the build-up to Aintree and the Grand National weekend though after last weekend’s winning Charity bet we are all looking forward to his words of wisdoms here.

Nigel’s Charity Bet

As always, we’ve given Nigel a £25 charity bet to place on a horse of his choice – and this afternoon it will be on……

Crievehill 2.05pm Haydock Saturday

“There is more rain forecast overnight which is good news as the softer the better for Crievehill and as I have him in great form at home I have to be really hopeful of a big run again here  – if he is in the same mood as when hacking up at Sandown last time out – and I think he has improved.”

If Crievehill wins, we’ll donate the winnings to the Injured Jockeys Fund!

Weekend picks:

Wicked Willy 3.15pm Haydock Saturday

Wicked Willy has been in great form all season with wins at Huntingdon and Taunton already and I think he can improve further with more experience over fences. I am pretty confident he will be fine with both the trip and the going but his consistency may be his downfall and I am wary one or two may be better handicapped than he is here.

Muckle Row 5.35pm Haydock Saturday

Just the three runs so far this season so he arrives here fresher than most and he ran a good second to Talk Of The South at Warwick last time out when only beaten a length. I am pretty sure he has a bit more improvement to come after that run and if I have that right then he can put in a big challenge again in this field.”

Mr Antolini 3.45pm Plumpton Sunday

“He landed the stable a good pay day when talking the Imperial Cup at Sandown by a neck last month and although up in the weight for that, he has at least one more big run in him. With only eight runners declared he has to have an each way chance and can pick up some more prize money here.”

Nigel Twiston-Davies will be back next week for his views on his runners as well as on a daily basis for all the major festivals! To see what our tipsters are backing in all the weekend’s races, check out our free daily horse racing tips!
