The jumps season many have slacked off after Aintree and then Punchestown but the Twiston-Davies yard are still ticking over this weekend. Nigel also reported that stable stars The New One, Blaklion, and Bristol De Mai are all fit and well, and enjoying their time off!
Nigel’s Charity Bet
Bally Beaufort Each Way 3.35pm Uttoxeter 20/1
If he wins, a donation of £337.50 will be sent to the Injured Jockeys Fund.
Ballyrath 3.00pm Uttoxeter
“A tough and well contested handicap to get involved in but my lad could pull off a bit of a surprise with any luck. He lost all confidence over fences but ran well enough when third over hurdles at Newbury and has been dropped another three pounds today. Hopeful, but we can never be confident in races like this.”
Bally Beaufort 3.35pm Uttoxeter
“The more rain the better for this eight year old, but he has been in good form at home and comes here with a decent each way chance. His early season efforts were really very good and he is showing signs he is in the same sort of form at home again, so I have to think he ought to run well at least.”
Brownville 4.10pm Uttoxeter
“He appears to be pretty happy on the gallops and the schooling grounds and= as he has been coming down the weights and Jamie takes five off his back I think he can run a lot better than his form figures may suggest.”
Bank Holiday Monday
Fond Memory 3.55pm Kempton
“He was sort of unseated and brought down at the same time here last time out which really wasn’t his fault and he deserves a bit of a consolation here. He gets in off a nice low weight at the moment and his third at Aachen three races ago would certainly give him a decent enough chance of adding to his other two wins around here where he seems to improve a few pounds.”
