Nigel Twiston-Davies – My Runners 16th/17th April 2016

Plenty of runners for the ever busy Twiston-Davies yard this weekend, but as always he found the time for an exclusive chat about their chances on both Saturday and Sunday.

Nigel’s Charity Bet

Bristol De Mai 2.00pm Ayr 6/5

If he wins, a donation of £55.00 will be sent to the Injured Jockeys Fund.

Saturday’s Runners

Bristol De Mai 2.00pm Ayr

“As I mentioned a while ago we deliberately bypassed Aintree to wait for the softer going here and conditions look as if they will be ideal for him today. He is still bouncing at home and on all known form he really ought to win this today, so fingers crossed.”

Wood Yer 3.55pm Bangor

“He has come out of his last race well after winning following a lay off of close to seventeen months but the handicapper has put him up five pounds and he night not find this quite as easy. He did have a bit in hand at Chepstow and wont mind the ground and I expect a very decent run again this afternoon”

Tour Des Champs 4.10pm Ayr

“Seems sensibly weighted and will love the soft ground and the trip and arrives here in decent enough form. He finished fourth here off of two pounds lower as a six year old in 2013, and would have been closer but for a couple of errors and if he jumps round cleanly today he could well be in the mix at the business end here. Cogry is first reserve and looked like placing last year until a fall four out and will run well enough IF he gets in, though at present that seems unlikely.”

Twist On Ginge 5.35pm Bangor

“Top rated by the Racing Post for what that’s worth, but up against a lot of unknown quantities including a point to point winner in Badbad Leroy Brown. He has improved at home for his first run and I do like him, but I can’t be confident in a race like todays. “

Ballypoint 2.15pm Stratford

“He is another one of mine who scored last time out, beating Mac Gregory by twenty-one lengths with any amount in hand. I don’t think the form of that race is up to very much and neither does the handicapper who has only put mine up a couple of pounds and I am hoping for another big run this afternoon.”

Robinshill 4.30pm Stratford

“I’m dropping him back to two miles today which I think might help, but to be honest I am feeling my way with this one and can’t really suggest whether he will or won’t run well until he tries this trip!”
