Nigel Twiston-Davies – My Runners 15th and 16th July 2017

Nigel Twiston-Davies Weekly Column

Not the busiest of weekends for the Twiston-Davies stable with regards to runners but Nigel was pretty excited when we spoke this morning for other reasons. The better horses are coming back in to training on Monday so the preparations are under way for the likes of The New One, Blaklion, Flying Angel and Co to start their preparations ahead of the season “proper” starting in the Autumn, and culminating of course with Cheltenham in March and then Aintree in April. While we look forward to Newmarket and Glorious Goodwood, Nigel starts the hard work ahead of another successful season.

One runner for the weekend for the stable so by definition he becomes the charity bet, though each way seems the sensible route in such a competitive looking heat.

Nigel’s Charity Bet

As always, we’ve given Nigel a £50 charity bet to place on a horse of his choice – and this weekend the money will be on…..

Bring Back Charlie each way 5.30pm Stratford Sunday

“He was a little bit disappointing last time out at Uttoxeter when I expected better but has been given a good rest since that run and has returned bouncing on the schooling grounds and looks a fresher horse. The better going is right up his street on Sunday afternoon and although no good thing, I am hoping for a much better run and with a bit of luck he can hit the places at a decent price with the excellent Jamie Baragary in the saddle once again.”

If Bring Back Charlie wins or places, we’ll donate the winnings to the Injured Jockeys Fund!
