An unlucky Third for Belmount in an extremely competitive affair last week, beaten just 2 and a half lengths under Gavin Sheehan. A busy enough Saturday for the yard today given the time of year and we have all Nigel’s thoughts on today’s runners.

Nigel’s Charity Bet

Haydock 2.00pm – Arctic Gold Each Way at 14/1

“Arctic Gold may well be in a pretty difficult race here but I think he has pretty decent chance and I am hoping that the step up in trip will bring improvement. He hasn’t really settled lately but if the added distance can see him stop pulling so hard we may well see a very different horse”

If Arctic Gold wins or places, we’ll donate the winnings to the Injured Jockeys Fund!

Haydock 5.55pm

“Astracad must have a pretty solid each way chance in an eight runner field and could well run at an each way price. It will be tough but I’m hoping he can get involved in the finish.”

Warwick 6.30pm

“Bendomingo won’t find this easy by any means but he has a slim chance and with so much prize money for this sort of race how could I resist”

Warwick 8.30

“Supakalanistic is  good as any of those who have already raced and ran really well when fourth here on his only run so far. He has gone on from that at home and seems sure to run really well again today.”
