Nigel Twiston-Davies: My Runners 7th and 8th May 2016

The season ends, the season begins again, and Nigel Twiston-Davies is in among the winners already and looking for more this weekend. We spoke to him this morning to ask him for his thoughts on his horses, and their chances, as well as the weekly Charity Bet of course!

Nigel’s Charity Bet

Kilronan High Each Way 4.30pm Haydock 10/1

If he wins, a donation of £175.00 will be sent to the Injured Jockeys Fund.

Saturday

Florrie Boy 3.20pm Haydock

“Only a five-year-old I have been impressed with his improvement all last season and he has been ticking over nicely at home, though we haven’t asked too much of him as he last raced just over two weeks ago. This is a very hot race so we will just have to see how we go with him and he does have to run form slightly out of the weights.”

Kilronan High 4.30pm Haydock

“She was a really good second in the final of the EBF Mares Novice Chase Series last time out at Cheltenham which I was really pleased with, and with the Good ground expected today she looks to have a decent each way chance. Everything about this race should suit her perfectly, and she seems reasonably weighted to me – fingers crossed for a big run.”

Big Casino 5.00pm Haydock

“He has been a bit disappointing lately so I have eased off him a bit at home which I hope will rejuvenate him and allow him to get back to something like his best. If he is in the mood he is more than capable of running a big race today, but we can’t be sure if that is the case.”

Bendomingo 5.50pm Warwick

“We are trying him over two miles five again today but the plan is to hold him up and see if that helps his efforts. If it works as I hope than a big run is on the cards this afternoon, if not I’ll have to try something else with him to get his head in front as I am sure he is capable of winning a race of this standard.”

Aldeburgh 4.25pm Nottingham

“He is a decent enough horse but I am wary he may improve for the run this afternoon after a couple of months off the track since running over hurdles at Huntingdon.”

Sunday

Robinshill 3.40pm Ludlow

I’m a hoping he is improving in which case he could run really well, but I’m honestly not sure and only time will tell on that one!”
