Nigel was his usual happy self this morning when we spoke to the ever popular trainer, and with a few runners this weekend this is what he had to tell us
Nigel’s Charity Bet
Robinshill – 2.15pm Market Rasen Saturday – 25/1 Each Way
If he wins, a donation of £400.00 will be sent to the Injured Jockeys Fund.
Saturday
Robinshill 2.15pm Market Rasen
“Bottom weight today but he hasn’t really done a lot wrong and I’m hopeful more than I can be confident. He is in good form at home but I am quite aware this is a hot contest with some very decent prize money, but he has a squeak and won’t disgrace himself today.”
Sunday
Moonday Sun 2.50pm Stratford
“Recently joined me from the John Butler yard and this is more of an exploratory outing to see how good he is. He has schooled well over hurdles at home and was rated 78 when last seen on the flat so I should be able to find a race or two for him.”
Ballykan 3.20pm Stratford
“I am dropping him in trip today as I’m not convinced he stayed the three miles plus at Uttoxeter last time out when he ran a bit below my expectations. He may be happier at this trip and isn’t without a chance on his best form, and I’m pretty confident he will run well at the very least.
Light Breaks 5.30pm Newton Abbot
“I have given him the winter off to improve and strengthen so we hope to see a better showing than last year where he struggled a little – a watching brief is advised today I’m afraid.”
