Nicky Henderson and Ian Williams Speak To myracing

Sandown - Nicky Henderson

On Tuesday 12th June 2018 myracing.com heads to Southwell racecourse for the fifth of our twelve sponsored meetings this year. The Nottinghamshire track boasts a seven-race card with the feature being the myracing.com For Royal Ascot Tips Handicap Hurdle.

It has been a big year for myracing.com with our racing sponsorship already seeing us visit Hereford (twice), Wolverhampton and Fontwell Park. There are still trips to Nottingham, Worcester, Bath, Chepstow and Ffos Las to come, which we are all excited about.

Looking ahead to the card this evening, we managed to speak to two of the countries leading trainers about their runners on the night. Nicky Henderson, the most successful Cheltenham Festival trainer to date and Ian Williams, whose yard always seen to be in flying form both sat down to guide us through their runners on the evening. We have Southwell Betting Tips for every race on our sponsored card, with full runner by runner guides.

6.10 – myracing.com Handicap Chase – No Ceiling, Ian Williams

“No Ceiling will run in the first race. He’s nicely weighted on his best form. When he’s good he’s very good, but when he’s bad he’s awful. We are trying the tongue-tie with him for the first time tomorrow.”

7.10 – Follow @myracingtips On Twitter Handicap Hurdle – Barkis, Nicky Henderson

“Barkis is a horse I own as well as train. He’s had lots of problems in his career. It’s his first run in almost a year.

8.10 – myracing.com For Royal Ascot Tips Handicap Hurdle – Brave Eagle, Nicky Henderson – Ballyalton & Royal Village, Ian Williams

“I think the step up in trip will suit Brave Eagle. He stays really well, but he’s not a big horse for carrying top weight.”

“Ballyalton hasn’t run over hurdles since October. Hopefully this will be a nice stepping stone towards the Summer National. He wouldn’t want the ground too fast.”

“Royal Village joins Ballyalton in the 8.10 and he ran a nice first race for me after he arrived from Philip Hobbs’ yard. I think the track and trip will both suit and he seems fairly handicapped.”

A big thank you to both Nicky Henderson and Ian Williams for speaking to us about their planned runners for Southwell and we wish them and their teams all the best.
