We’ve got five meetings to look forward to across Britain and Ireland on Monday and there’s some decent stuff on the agenda. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Clifford Lee is the top jockey at Ayr this year with three winners from six rides, and he will ride Karl Burke’s Ten Clarets in the opening 7f novice on the card. Burke is 2-3 at the track this season and this Ten Sovereigns colt showed plenty of pace when fourth of seven in a 6f maiden at York on debut and he’s bred to get further. The combination are worth following at the track, that’s for sure.
Simon & Ed Crisford will unleash 600,000gns purchase Apulia Bay in the 7f novice at Lingfield. The son of Too Darn is closely related to Group-placed 1m4f AW winner Nightime Dancer (RPR 107), and his dam is a maiden half-sister to useful French 7.5f 2yo/1m winner Rock’n Swing. The stable is 3-8 with 2yos this season already and it would be no surprise if he is very smart.
Tim Easterby has won the closing 6f handicap at Ripon three times from the last four years and his Long Shot won’t be that, that’s for sure. The 3yo gelding very nearly gained his first win at Catterick over 6f a fortnight ago and could be hard to beat if he runs a similar race.
Irish trainer John McConnell is double handed at Wolverhampton! In the 5f handicap, She’s A Gift is bidding to shed her maiden tag but she has claims judged on her recent second here in a classified stakes race. In the 1m1f handicap, Will Be King hasn’t won since 2020 but was second in classified company over C&D on reappearance after a huge layoff but needs to bounce back from a poor effort at Dundalk.
