Jockey/trainer combo with 60% Redcar win rate team up for 1 on Sunday

Redcar Racecourse

We have often discussed in the past that trainers are creatures of habit. They will target certain races through a campaign year after year and being able to spot those patterns is a good angle into a race. David Brown-trained horses are always all the more interesting when they run at Redcar with Kevin Stott booked.

Teaming up at this track has seen winners at a 60% clip, well ahead of what they achieve both here and elsewhere on their own. They have a 32% strike rate when they team up across all tracks so their Redcar runners are proving to be twice as successful as they are at other courses.

Sunday is a busy day of racing action. Stratford and Newton Abbot support Redcar in the U.K while Tipperary and a tasty looking card at the Curragh keep the Irish flag flying for our horse racing tips.

Northern Charm is the horse in question, running over nine furlongs in a Class 6. She is yet to get her head in front but hit the frame on multiple occasions on the Fibresand at Southwell last autumn. She showed very little on her sole 2021 start but she is entitled to come on for that return to action off the back of a seven month break.

It is interesting that connections are trying her up in trip now. Her form in 2020 was all over sprint trips, with seven furlongs being her task on her sole run this year. Up another quarter of a mile is a very different task on her plate on this occasion which could see her at a tasty price, especially given her trainer and jockey combination.

Her dam was a winner over seven furlongs and stayed a mile, with mile and ten furlong horses in her pedigree. Northern Charm herself shaped as if six was too sharp for her, doing all her best work late in the day at Southwell. She is intriguing now trying this far.
