GAMBLE! Jamie Osborne Launches Attack On Laytown!

Jamie Osborne has seven horses’ running at Laytown in Ireland today and all seven are being well supported in the market! We saw Charles Byrnes land a monster coup at Roscommon just a matter of weeks ago and it looks like Mr Osborne could be trying to attempt the same feat this afternoon! Laytown is a meeting that takes place once a year! It is raced on the beach and they wait until the tide is fully out, it really is a marvellous spectacle!

Jamie Osborne’s Seven Horses

3.05 – I Will Excel (9/1 – 4/1 in Places)

Formerly with Michael O’Callaghan, this horse is now having his first run for Osborne. A winner at Bellewstown last month, he wasn’t disgraced when 9th to Ducky Mallon last time out, only beat three lengths and didn’t get the best of runs!

3.05 – Summersault (14/1 – 10/1 in Places)

This horse is currently 2nd reserve so his participation is doubtful at present, he needs two non runners! If he does run, he has a solid chance! A good 3rd at Lingfield last time out in a hood.

3.35 – Athassel (14/1 – 8/1 in Places)

Formerly with TJ O’Mara, this is a horse also having first run for the Osborne stable today! The gelding ran a good race at Dundalk last time out when 4th and conditions will certainly suit him. He is a reserve currently so he will need a non runner to get in!

4.05 – Snoozing Indian (9/4 – 6/4 in Places)

Finished 4th at Galway last time out for TJ O’Mara and is having first run for the Osborne stable today. That was a very good run considering it was a very competitive handicap and he had a terrible draw in Stall 14. Massive chance here today.

4.35 – Rialto Magic (6/1 – 3/1 in Places)

Good draw in Stall 3 and interesting that this is one of William Carson’s two rides, he isn’t flying over for nothing is he? Lucy Barry has rode this horse last four starts so this could be significant! Loves the all weather so the beach could suit!

5.05 – Spryt (12/1 – 4/1 in Places)

There was a lot of overnight money for this horse and it is interesting that this is also a debutant for Osborne after leaving the David O’Meara stable! Latest runs can be ignored on fast ground, loves a bit of stick in the ground and she will have that on the wet beach today.

5.35 – Room Key (9/4 – 11/8 in Places)

Yet another horse that is having first run for the Osborne stable today, very interesting! Formerly with Eve Johnson Houghton, this horses’ form leaves a lot to be desired but this will be a much easier task than the Class 3 Goodwood handicap he participated in last time out! Good opportunity.
