Form Focus – Who’s Hot In The Trainer And Jockey Stats 26/12/18

Trainer Nicky Richards

Trainers and Jockeys report week commencing 26/12/2018

Not the best of weeks last week I am sorry to report but that is the way with these things and with Christmas over now we can hopefully get back on track, so to speak. If in doubt, don’t forget to check out all our other tips for the most up to date information.

In-Form Trainers:

Nicky Richards – 46% winners 85% placed runners

Nice to see a Northern based trainer topping the list this week and with such good percentages as well. Simply Ned will go well at Leopardstown on Thursday but Duke Of Navan

looks more interesting as an each way option in the 2.15pm at Wetherby and ought to give us a good run for our money at the very least.

Henry De Bromhead – 35% winners 53% placed runners

Striking while in good form seems the stable motto with a large number of potential runners declared over the next few days by the De Bromhead team. Paloma Blue

looks the best of them at this stage and the six-year-old ought to go mighty close in the 12.40pm at Leopardstown on Thursday afternoon.

John Gosden – 29% winners 50% placed runners

Not too many runners to choose from for the Newmarket maestro this week but the un-raced Frankel filly Anapurna

has already been well supported in the early markets ahead of the 4.10pm at Wolverhampton this afternoon with David Probert an interesting jockey booking. She should go well enough first time out to be worth an interest.

Harry Fry – 29% winners 41% placed runners

Harry continues to make a big name for himself as a trainer and is getting better and better horses sent to him each season. This week we will rely on Sir Ivan

who can go well fresh in the 2.25pm at Newbury on Saturday provided he can put in a clear round which has been his recent downfall.

In-Form Jockeys:

Barry Geraghty – 38% winners 57% placed rides

The only rides booked at present are at Leopardstown tomorrow (Thursday) and the best of them may well be Sancta Simona

who runs in the Grade One Future Champions Novices’ Hurdle over two miles. She does look a class act with three wins from four starts this season and ought to take all the beating.

Harry Cobden – 28% winners 45% placed rides

Jockey of the moment and King George winner Harry Cobden will have a good season with the strength in depth available at the Paul Nicholls yard. Amour De Nuit

is expected to turn up for the novice chase at Leicester on Friday, looking to follow up a Doncaster victory and add to his three wins from just the four starts over the larger obstacles.

Tom Scudamore – 26% winners 33% placed rides

Sticking with Leicester on Friday afternoon and Tom Scudamore rides Steel Wave

for Gary Hanmer which looks an interesting (and bright and early) jockey booking. Winning may be a step too far but a place is clearly on the cards and at a price with any luck.

Sam Twiston-Davies – 22% winners 38% placed rides

One more jockey to go and our old friend Sam Twiston-Davies has rightly proved he can bang in plenty of winners as a freelance. On Friday he is down to ride Milanstorm

for his father in a maiden hurdle, and the bumper winner is fully expected to leave his return sixth a long way behind him here.
