Dan Skelton bids for success at favoured Stratford with 113-1 accumulator

Team Skelton

Monday’s racing comes from five different venues, with an interesting day of action in store. Lingfield, Stratford, Pontefract, Tipperary and Wolverhampton are on the agenda and we’ll have horse racing tips for all five, including a pair of Lucky 15 tips.

Stratford has been a very happy hunting ground for top trainer Dan Skelton in recent years. In the last five, Skelton has sent 174 runners to the venue, with 39 returning as winners. That’s a very healthy 22% return and he has four very strong chances on Thursday. The accumulator pays 113-1 and you can see our analysis below.

1.15 Stratford – Retraining Of Racehorses Novices’ Hurdle

The opener is a novices’ hurdle and Jay Jay Reilly looks to kick off Skelton’s Monday charge with victory. He’s raced on three occasions thus far, all in bumpers, where he’s shown steady improvement. The form of his most recent third at Catterick looks solid and he’s undergone wind surgery since we last saw him.

He’s just the type to improve now he’s sent over an obstacle and with ground conditions of now concern, he holds an obvious chance of getting off the mark.

1.45 Stratford – Even Keel Foundation Handicap Hurdle

Her recent form has been disappointing, but Midnight Aurora has now fallen onto her last winning mark as a result. That victory came to a very similar course, Plumpton, and Stratford should ply to all her strengths. She could certainly do without further rain, but she’s acted on good to soft in the past.

She does need to leave this years form well behind, but she’s capable and a small break will likely have done her the world of good.

2.22 Stratford – Pertemps Network Group Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Chase

Finishing second on a pair of occasions earlier this year, Accordingtogino has an excellent chance of returning to winning ways. One of those runner-up efforts came over course and distance off a two-pound higher rating, so he’s clearly on a workable rating.

His most recent run at Ffos Las is best forgiven and he drops into Class 4 company for the first time since winning comfortably at Warwick in November. He handles any going and has an obvious role to play.

3.22 Stratford – Stratford Racecourse Supporting Racing Charities Juvenile Hurdle

Previously trained on the flat by George Scott, Too Friendly got up to a rating of 88 on the level. That’s a very high standard and his well-known owners, The Gredley Family, have sent him to Dan Skelton to continue his training over timber.

The fact they’ve made this decision is very positive and his best flat form will make him a big force if he can translate it over to timber. He’s in great hands, with a stable that does well with similar types, and he has an obvious chance of making a winning debut.
