Chester draw bias: each-way Lucky 15 could return £6,876

There is always a lot said about a low draw at Chester. A tight left-handed track where horses are on the turn for the majority of the trip but is it really so significant to be drawn right on the inside in the shorter contests? With five races live on ITV Racing on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, any edge we can gain is huge for our free horse racing tips.

There is also action at Newton Abbot, Kelso, Fontwell, Kempton and Gowran on a busy Wednesday as the flat season really starts to ramp up. A 50p each way Lucky 15 with bet365 pays £6,876 for four draw bias winners at time of writing.

1.45 Chester – ICM Stellar Sports Lily Agnes Conditions Stakes

Interestingly here, there is a big middle bias in the opening contest for juveniles. The first three home and the number of runners below show that stalls 3, 4 and 5 are the sweet spot but even the wide outside is not a huge disadvantage. Stalls three and four have had most success and with fillies winning 4 of the last 5 renewals, it’s a filly who looks the draw pick.

2.45 Chester – tote+ At tote.co.uk Handicap

A five furlong handicap so a different dynamic to the opener with more experienced runners. Despite that, there is not a single winner from stalls 1 or 2. There are three winners from 3 however, with that stall finishing second twice in nine years.

3.45 Chester – tote+ Pays You More At tote.co.uk Handicap

Six furlongs the trip here and always a double figure field. 6 has hit the frame the most times with 4 occasions but it’s worth noting that stall nine has hit the frame on three of the last nine runnings, the same as stall 1. At a price it might be worth taking that chance again that a draw in 9 isn’t as big a negative as perceived.

4.45 Chester – Deepbridge Estate Planning Service Handicap

Seven furlongs this time and a maximum field of 14. Starting on a small straight, there is a little time for jockeys to find a position compared to the sprints which start on a bend. Six of the nine years has at least seen something with a double-figure draw hit the frame. Stall 8 has been the most successful in recent years, housing one who has been supported.
