Big-race verdict: myracing expert 25-1, 16-1 & 14-1 tips for the Stewards’ Cup

Khaadem winning the Stewards' Cup at Goodwood 2019

‘She is the class act in the race’

Summerghand and Gifted Master both proved that top weight might not be too big a burden in the Stewards’ Cup. They both carried top weight to victory in the last three years and Chil Chil can do the same. She is the class act in the race and was only beaten three lengths in the Group 1 July Cup when last seen. This is a massive drop in class and she will absolutely adore the ground. She is too big a price to ignore. – Adrian Wall

‘His berth in seven looks ideal’

Still unexposed as a sprinter, Great Ambassador gives the impression that a big field and strong pace will bring improvement. Things didn’t go right for him at Newmarket last time, held up in a race where they didn’t come back. There are three pace angles in here, two of them in stalls three and four so his berth in seven looks ideal with nine of the sixteen runners placed in this race the last four years drawn ten or lower. – Matthew Newman

‘Excellent chance of making the frame’

He’s not the most consistent of horses, but Hey Jonesy has an excellent chance of making the frame if he’s on a going day. Trained by the in-form Kevin Ryan yard, he won the 2020 Wokingham off today’s rating and he wasn’t beaten far in the same race two starts ago, only beaten by horses who raced off the pace. He was very poor at Pontefract last time, but that wasn’t his true running and back in a big-field handicap, he’s unlikely to be far away. – Owen Goulding
