April has been an incredible month for myracing.com! Both the Australian Racing Tips and the Greyhound Racing Tips have been smashing in winners left right and centre but the UK selections have also been firing in success stories. 11 winning NAP selections at the half way point of the month and a pair of massive Lucky 15 returns have formed the cornerstone but a 40/1 winner at Southwell on Friday night put the cherry and icing on top of what has already proved to be a tasty cake!

Horse racing winners at such inflated odds are relatively rare, finding tipsters putting up 40/1 winners, rarer. The Samantha Drake yard will not be one well known outside of those who watch racing closely on a day to day basis but they are a team well capable of producing winners and more importantly have been in rude health of late. On the bare face of things, Violoniste had shown precious little in four starts over hurdles in novice company but he could be excused the first couple returned from a long break on desperate ground. He had shown a little more at Wetherby when last seen against the smart Born Survivor and a look back to Violoniste’s point to point days in Ireland and a four length 2nd to the 127 rated Skylander suggested that an initial opening gambit in handicaps off just 87 probably underestimated his ability!

So it proved, always travelling kindly, kept wide away from the rain softened poached up ground on the rails, Jonathan England exuded confidence as he turned for home still firmly on the bridle. A mistake two flights from home caused a moment of concern but England soon had the gelding back on an even keel and he was always doing enough on the run-in to score by two lengths to give followers of our free horse racing tips a monster BOOM! Backed all the way down to 11/2 from the original 40/1 we tipped the horse at, it was a massive gamble,paying for celebrations all weekend!
