Our sponsored card at Wolverhampton on Wednesday evening promises to be a cracker, with seven competitive contests from the midland venue. As always, you can get tips for all the races by visiting our Wolverhampton Betting Tips page, where you’ll also be able to find plenty of useful statistics to enhance your knowledge of the All-Weather venue. Everyone loves a big price winner, so we’ve come up with three horses we believe can laugh at their odds to run a big race on our myracing.com sponsored card!
Athassel – 5.20pm (Best Priced 12/1)
David Evan’s yard is currently in cracking form and his nine-year-old currently sits on a very dangerous mark, hitting the frame off twenty-pound higher marks as recently as the winter of 2017. He showed plenty more than the bare result suggested at Kempton seven days ago, finishing a never-nearer seventh in a race where few got into it from the rear. This race should be run to suit with a fair pace on the front-end and he should be the one capitalising when it collapses late on.
Aaliya – 6.55pm (Best Priced 14/1)
This is a very interesting novice contest and Amy Murphy’s daughter of Invincible Spirit is the one who stands out, second foal of a smart French six-furlong scorer. Murphy has had eight three-year-old runners on the All-Weather this season and two of them have returned to the winner’s enclosure, showing a £12.50 profit to level stakes. The in-form Richard Kingscote is booked to ride on debut and she is the one to side with in this contest.
Denham – 7.30pm (Best Priced 12/1)
Michael Appleby has his string in fine fettle at present and his runners on handicap debut are always to be feared. This three-year-old filly produced a career-best effort when pitched into Listed company on her third career start, not disgraced to finish ninth. She was obviously outclassed that day, but she now makes her handicap debut in a much easier contest. A mark of 72 is more than fair and she can take full advantage to make it fourth time lucky.
