First up in the Acca was the Mark Johnston trained MASHAM STAR, tipped up by us at 4/6 early doors. The 3 year old colt was smashed into 2/5 FAV before the off and from the word go, the race never looked in doubt. He was a good 3rd in a decent race at York when last seen and we knew with a repeat run, he would be extremely hard to beat. When Joe Fanning pushed the button, he scooted clear to win by 4 lengths. Exciting start to the day.

Next up was the Joseph O’Brien trained JUSTICE FREDERICK and we knew it could be a great day for the man who was having his first day as a trainer! We did start to get worried though as Aidan’s debutant was smashed into favourite right before the off and normally you’d think our fate had been sealed. However, our selection dug deep and put his experience to good use. Donnacha gave the horse a positive ride and he held on to win! 2/2 in the Acca and now we were believing.

The last leg of the Acca was another Joseph O’Brien trained horse called OATHKEEPER in the Listowel bumper. Tipped up at 6/4 in the morning, Sarah O’Brien tracked the Willie Mullins’ trained second favourite for the entire race and turning for home, the horse skated past as if he wasn’t there. You won’t ever see a more impressive winner and BOOOOOOOOOM our Acca had been landed. Only one small scare and two very impressive winners! That’s how we roll here at MRT HQ!
