David Evans sends one on a rare Irish raid to Naas on Wednesday and she’s 17-2 🔎

David Evans certainly isn’t a regular visitor to Ireland and has only had two runners there in the last five campaigns. Neither of those have been in the last two seasons so it looks noteworthy that he sends one runner to Naas on Wednesday. He has only had two previous runners at the track and will be hoping to make it third time lucky. 6.20 Naas

Radio Goo Goo (17-2, William Hill) has been a massive improver so far this season. She began the season on a mark of 72 but after completing a four-timer, she has since shot up to 92. Evans’ filly wasn’t disgraced in a handicap at Royal Ascot on her penultimate start and was solid enough when thrown into a Group 3 last time out.

It looks like she goes on most types of ground and has won on soft before, suggesting she should cope with the conditions at Naas. Ben Curtis takes the ride here and he has won on her three times in just five races together. This could prove to be some shrewd placing from her trainer, as this isn’t the deepest Listed race. Gaining black type could be invaluable for her as a potential broodmare in the future and she has every chance of finishing in the mix.

Johnny Murtagh’s Lady Onyx is probably the one to beat and is down to 6f for the first time. That being said, it’s a wide-open race and Radio Goo Goo has as good a chance as any. She wouldn’t need to find much improvement from her three-and-a-half-length defeat at York last time and should be there or thereabouts.
