Donald McCain is as shrewd as they come and he is relentless when it comes to banging in winners. He trained an incredible 155 winners over jumps last season, and his tally for this season is already at 71, operating at 23 per cent.

In the last five years, he has a 22 per cent return at Musselburgh Racecourse and he has four big chances at the Scottish track on Monday.

Masked Crusader looked smart when winning a pair of novice hurdles last year and although he disappointed on chasing bow at Catterick when sent off a warm order, the first time tongue tie might help and the yard have a 22 per cent strike rate at the track in the last five years.

Latino Fling is a keen going front runner who is a model of consistency. The mare got way too lit up at Sedgefield last time but if Hughes can settle her, she will be a hard horse to pass. When she gets her own way in front, she usually puts her rival to the sword from a long way out.
