Three horses set to benefit from first time headgear form 124-1 treble

Windsor Racecourse

Trying to beat the Monday blues? Look no further than a bumper day of action! There’s seven meetings to sink our teeth into, including Pontefract, Windsor, Hexham, Limerick, Tramore, Market Rasen and Kempton.

We’ll have horse racing tips for the all racing, including accumulator and Lucky 15 tips! This article, however, will be focusing on horses with new headgear fitted. Cheekpieces, blinkers and other aids can produce exponential improvement when fitted and the trainers of these horses will be hoping that’s the case on Monday. We’ve done the heavy lifting for you and you can see the ones to potentially keep on side below.

2.00 Pontefract – Warranty

Harry Whittington’s string are in excellent form at present, with two winners from his last five runners. The first-time visor is fitted to Warranty on his return to the level and he’s one to take very seriously.

The last time we saw him on the flat was back in July, where he shed his maiden at Beverley impressively on his final start for Richard Fahey. He’s been sent hurdling since joining Whittington, where he’s been below form, albeit on ground that probably didn’t play to his strengths.

He’s eleven pounds higher than his last winning mark back on the flat, but he’s unexposed in this sphere and the first-time headgear should have a positive effect. Ben Curtis is a fantastic jockey booking and there’s plenty to like about his chances in this marathon event.

2.40 Windsor – Mystery Show

When Archie Watson fits his horses with first-time cheekpieces, improvement tends to be forthcoming. He has a 17% strike-rate when he fits this type of headgear and that boosts the claims of Mystery Show, a maiden winner at Wolverhampton on her second career start.

She’s been absent since Newmarket in October, where heavy ground seemingly didn’t suit in a Listed contest. She has her sights dramatically lowered for today’s return, making her handicap debut off an attainable rating. Stretching out in distance is another positive and she’s a very interesting contender under the popular Hollie Doyle.

6.30 Market Rasen – Balgemmois

Fergal O’Brien has an 18% strike-rate with horses in the first-time tongue-tie and his runner Balgemmois also makes his first start since wind surgery. He was previously trained by Ali Stronge, who trained him to a course and distance victory back in January 2020. He’s been seen on just a pair of occasions since, latterly on stable debut at Wincanton, where he was pulled up.

He was well-backed that day, so better was clearly expected. With the tongue-tie fitted and wind surgery both potential angles of improvement, he’s one to take very seriously for a yard who holds a 29% strike-rate in the last 14 days.
