Tuesday’s 12/1 Trainer Treble

We were treated to a feast of weekend action with Cyrname beating Altior and Lostintranslation announcing himself as a Gold Cup contender with a stylish win at Haydock. Stoney Mountain also ran out an impressive winner of the Stayers’ Handicap Hurdle and looks an interesting stayer going forwards.

Newbury holds a cracking couple of day’s racing on Friday and Saturday, live on ITV. To start what is hopefully a profitable week for you all, here’s three runners who caught the eye from trainers who thrive at certain venues.

There are selections from Sedgefield, Southwell and Wolverhampton. We’ll have tips and analysis for all the action as we build up to the weekend, as well as a number of Free Bets.

Terrierman 14.30 Southwell

Dan Skelton tops the list of winning-most trainers at Southwell this season, with his twenty-seven runners yielding seven winners. His stable have had a remakarbale forty-three winners at the venue over the past five years and have a great chance of further success with Terrierman.

An easy winner of a Point-to-Point in March, the son of Getaway ran a big race on stable/hurdling debut at Stratford last month. Sent off 14/1, he finished third behind two useful rivals. The winner has since placed in a Grade Two at Cheltenham and the second, whom he was just a length behind, was rated 127.

Harry Skelton takes the ride from William Marshall today. He’s in typically fine form having ridden eight winners over the past fortnight. In a considerably easier assignment, the gelding should go close to victory.

Paricolor 15.20 Sedgefield

The Devon based yard of David Pipe rather surprisingly doesn’t send too many runners to Sedgefield. Despite the distance, they’ve still had three winners from five runners since 2017, with the other two hitting the frame.

The stable has a big contender today in the form of Paricolor, a three-year-old gelding whom they acquired from France in the summer. He’s improved with each of his four runs over hurdles on RPRs, justifying favouritism with ease on handicap debut at Fakenham.

A seven-pound penalty still leaves him on a very lenient mark, and he receives fifteen-pounds from each of his rivals today in the form of a weight-for-age allowance. Rated 111 in a race officially only open to horses rated up to 105, he can prove a class above.

Twilighting 19.20 Wolverhampton

Henry Candy isn’t known for his success on the All-Weather but he has enjoyed a very productive time of things at Wolverhampton over the past year. Of his nine runners at the Midlands’ venue, four have scored, yielding a £17.50 profit to a £1 level stake.

The filly Twilighting has come good in recent weeks, going close over the minimum trip in October before landing a Classified race two weeks later, both at Kempton.

That victory will have done her the world of good and the handicapper hardly took exception to it, raising her just four pounds. Partnered once more by Nicola Currie, a bold bid has to be antiticipated on the Tapeta on which her yard thrive.
