The form of Libertango’s maiden win at Leicester worked out very well and she looked special when winning the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot in good style. A narrow second in a Group 2 at Newmarket last time out, she can go one better this time around.

Aidan O’Brien’s Sun Goddess has been one of the standout two-year-olds of the season so far and she produced an excellent performance to land the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh recently. Dropping in grade here, it’ll be a big surprise if she fails to get the job done.

Kalpana is a battle-hardened mare these days and the form of her King George success at Ascot last time out is very hard to argue with. None of her rivals have produced form of that level recently and she can take full advantage, back against her fellow fillies and mares.

Andrew Balding landed the big one on Wednesday and The Lost King could provide him with further success. The lightly raced four-year-old landed a course and distance handicap in good style last time out and could still be ahead of the handicapper.

Vauntingly managed to shed her maiden tag with a smooth victory in a Killarney maiden last month and she followed that up with a close second in Listed company at Gowran. Joseph O’Brien’s filly is entitled to progress and can go close here if doing so.

Charlie Appleby is in great form at the moment and he can add to his tally of 13 winners on the July Course this season, with Race To The Stars. He beat a subsequent winner when taking a Southwell novice on debut and can build on his narrow second in handicap company at Chelmsford.

Edward Bethell’s Weleyff has improved with every run so far and the son of Too Darn Hot made the perfect start to life in handicap company when winning at Doncaster earlier this month. The handicapper has responded with a 5lb rise but further progress is expected.

Traveling Man struggled somewhat in maiden and novice company but Charlie Fellowes’ three-year-old took a big step forward to finish third in a Salisbury handicap when last seen. He can build on that and is capable of going close, racing off the same mark here.

Starlight Lass got off the mark at the second time of asking in a Newmarket novice in June and she got the job done in good style, despite only facing two rivals. It was a similar story at Yarmouth after that and it’s very possible that she’s significantly ahead of the handicapper.

Air Force One overcame same trouble in running to land a Beverley handicap back in April and he was less than a length behind the winner when third here over a slightly longer trip last time. A 1lb rise shouldn’t make much difference and he’s entitled to go close once again.

Henrietta Knight’s In The Breeze has been in good form so far this season and he won well at Thirsk over a shorter trip in April.  Colin Keane has been booked for the ride and having won well at Goodwood last time, another big run could be on the cards.

Karl Burke’s Diamond New Bay looked in need of the run on debut at Thirsk last month and the daughter of New Bay is likely to step forward for the run. Having run well for a long time that day, she should be much stronger at the finish this time around.

Edward Bethell’s Native Instinct returned to winning ways with a smooth victory at Musselburgh last time out and a 3lb rise should be more than manageable. He was second off a 4lb higher mark last term and is therefore entitled to be in the mix here.

Naana’s Shadow has been in excellent form this year, winning four of her seven starts, and scored with plenty in hand at Goodwood last time out. An 8lb rise does make life harder but the improving filly is one to keep on side until her limitations are exposed.

Havana Sprite dead-heated for first in a Listed contest on her penultimate start and that form suggests she should be too good for rivals off a mark of 92 here. James Tate’s filly won in handicap company last time out and is expected to follow up here.

Haffner finished second behind a stablemate on debut and appreciated the step up in trip when winning a 7f maiden at Newmarket after that. Second in a Glorious Goodwood Group 2 last time out, a similar effort should be enough this time around.

Christmas Day  has taken his form to a new level this season and managed to land the Derby at Epsom back in June, winning with plenty in hand. Maltese Cross was second that day and Aidan O’Brien’s colt is expected to confirm the form.

Ombudsman looks very hard to oppose here and the John & Thady Gosden-trained five-year-old is unbeaten so far this season. He could hardly have been more impressive when bolting up in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot and should be too good for his rivals,
