Winter Lion has only had the two starts for Fergal O’Brien so far but built on his promising debut at Sandown to win at Cheltenham last month. He is coming up against a smart rival today though, in VIRGILIO who won this race last year bringing his record in May to four wins from four starts, this is certainly the time of year to catch him and he is now just three pounds higher than last year’s winning mark. The return to the better ground on offer here looks a big positive for his chances, and he is backed to return to winning ways with Dan Skelton currently enjoying an excellent run of form.
