Society Power is on a five-timer and a six-pound rise for his latest win at Ascot may not be enough to stop him winning again today. He did hang left-handed there though, and this looks the toughest race he has contested to date, as a result of that, MAYBRIDE is preferred today. She seemed to have strengthened up over the winter when making a winning return to action at Newmarket last month. The handicapper has raised her six pounds for that win, but the return to softer ground conditions and step up to seven furlongs can bring about some further improvement today. It seems significant that connections have resisted the urge to try and get her some much sought after black-type, perhaps feeling she has more to come off this handicap mark.
