6.55pm Chelmsford Tips & Betting Preview 16/11/2017

6.55pm Chelmsford tips for Thursday’s Class 4 race. A field of sixteen go to post for this Novice Stakes, contested over the mile distance. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Plenty of interesting unraced types such as DiableryPerfection and Phantasmic, but FINAL TREAT can put her experience to good use and take this prize. She stepped up on her debut to finish a good third at Newmarket on her latest start and that form reads well in the context of this race. She will appreciate this extra furlong and can progress once again to take this prize in good style.

1 BEAUTIFUL ARTIST – Daughter of Lonhro who has shown a similar level of form in two runs for John Gosden, not improving on her debut when disappointing at Newmarket earlier this month. Step up in trip should suit, but she needs to improve and others are preferred.

2 BUBBLE AND SQUEAK – Has finished second on all three of her starts thus far for Sylvester Kirk, not beaten far by a promising sort at Kempton last week. He sets the form standard and shouldn’t be far away, though he’s vulnerable to a progressive/useful sort.

3 CAPE LIBERTY – First foal of a useful one mile winner, making her debut for Simon Crisford who can ready them first time up. It would be no surprise to see her playing a hand on debut and any market support would be interesting.

4 COME WITH ME – Left two modest efforts behind when finishing second at Yarmouth on her latest start, though she was beaten by three lengths. The merits of that form have to be questioned though and she’s drawn very poorly, so others are preferred.

5 DANCE ME – Has shown a similar level of form in two runs for Sylvester Kirk, finishing fourth over the seven furlong distance here in October. That form is nothing to shout about but she should improve for the extra furlong and has place claims from a good draw.

6 DESERT DIAMOND – Daughter of Dubawi who has a useful enough pedigree but disappointing massively on debut, well beaten in eighth over seven furlongs here in October. She is likely much better than that but she needs to improve substantially to get involved and others are preferred.

7 DIABLERY – Another for John Gosden who is related to many recent winners including Tall Ship, Chevallier and Yellowhammer. She is drawn wide on debut which is a concern but she has a useful enough pedigree to give her each way claims.

8 FINAL TREAT – Stepped up on her debut to finish a good third at Newmarket on her latest start, with that form looking to be useful in the context of this race. She should improve for another furlong and if taking another step forward, she shouldn’t be for catching here.

9 FLEETING FREEDOM – Now a six race maiden who again found one too strong when second at Lingfield in October, headed near the finish. She is hugely vulnerable in a tougher race, not to mention she is drawn poorly. Hard to make a case for her.

10 FLORA SANDES – Sent off 5/1 on debut for Charlie Appleby and Godolphin, with this $900,000 daughter of War Front proving far too keen when sixth over the seven furlongs here in October. She is likely to improve for that run though and with William Buick up, she is respected as Appleby is flying at present.

11 JAMAICAN JILL – Sent off 33/1 on debut for William Muir but she out-ran those odds to finish third, keeping on well and holding a few of these in behind. She clearly knew her job that day and improvement is needed here in a deeper race. Hard to dismiss her for each way terms, though.

12 NORTH BAY SUNRISE – Has shown a modest level of form in two runs for Ed Vaughan, well held in third at Lingfield on her latest start. She is drawn in Stall 15 which is an immediate red flag and she should find at least a few of these too strong for her.

13 PERFECTION – Daughter of Dutch Art who has several winners in her pedigree, with this trip looking ideal for her on debut. She has Rab Havlin up which makes her interesting and if the money is down, she is of interest for top connections.

14 PHANTASMIC – Fetched 625,000gns as a yearling and this daughter of Frankel has a very smart pedigree, half-sister to horses such as Lady Darshaan, Totaly Gallery and Tempest Fugit. Sir Michael Stoute’s horses tend to need the run but she is drawn well and looks above average. Has to be respected.

15 QASWARAH – Sent off at odds of 50/1 on debut for Ed Dunlop and she ran accordingly, well beaten in tenth after weakening tamely two furlongs out. Plenty of improvement is needed for the switch to the all weather and she can only be watched.

16 SNATTY DANCER – Easy to back on debut for Hughie Morrison and she was brushed aside, struggling as soon as she was ridden and weakening alarmingly. Hard to recommend her after such a poor first time out performance.
