IN SUMMARY: Ramses De Teillee returned from a break when narrowly denied at Fontwell last month and he’s a leading player on that evidence. He does have to shoulder 12st 2lb though and preference is for MAGUIRE’S GLEN who has been finding his form since joining Grace Harris and posted his best effort yet when second at this venue over shorter. He loves a slog in the mud and will relish this extra distance, so he should be very tough to beat off only two pounds higher.

RAMSES DE TEILLEE – Yet to win over hurdles in five starts, but he’s gone close on a number of occasions, including on his latest start when second at Fontwell off the back off a six month break. He’s only three pounds higher here and is leading contender if backing that form up, but a weight of 12st 2lb makes this very tricky.

TAKE A BREAK – Returned from a five month break with a devastating victory at Hexham two weeks ago, winning by seven lengths. He’s 11 pounds higher and this trip is an unknown, with his stamina to prove. If he does stay then he has to be feared, but he does have risks attached.

WATERLOO WARRIOR – Last seen at Exeter in March for Colin Tizzard, finishing second on handicap debut with a strong late challenge. He’s only four pounds higher here, yet the drop in trip is a question mark and he doesn’t have the blinkers on this occasion. Each way claims, but does look vulnerable at this distance.

LADY OF LONGSTONE – Last win came way back in March 2016 and she’s had plenty of chances since, well beaten on her last three runs. She folded tamely when last seen over further here and she doesn’t have obvious claims on this occasion, especially on heavy ground.

MAGUIRE’S GLEN – Won in heavy conditions when in Ireland for Elizabeth Doyle and he’s been slowly finding his form since joining Grace Harris. On his third run for this yard he was second at this venue over shorter, keeping on strongly. He will relish the testing ground here and should stay this far, which makes him tough to beat off this mark.

ARTHUR BURRELL – Won a bumper back in July 2015 for Jackie Du Plessis, but he’s been scarcely seen since, well beaten on his only start this year over course and distance in April. Hard to recommend him with no evidence to suggest that he’s up to winning a race at this level.

ARCHIE RICE – Won over the 3m 2f distance here in July 2016 and he’s fairly treated on the best of his form, but he’s been well held in two runs this season and a drop back in distance isn’t sure to help him. He’ll need a strong test and heavy ground is far from ideal, so he’s best watched.
