Christmas Day has taken his form to a new level this season and managed to land the Derby at Epsom back in June, winning with plenty in hand. Maltese Cross was second that day and Aidan O’Brien’s colt is expected to confirm the form.

Air Force One overcame same trouble in running to land a Beverley handicap back in April and he was less than a length behind the winner when third here over a slightly longer trip last time. A 1lb rise shouldn’t make much difference and he’s entitled to go close once again.
Henrietta Knight’s In The Breeze has been in good form so far this season and he won well at Thirsk over a shorter trip in April. Colin Keane has been booked for the ride and having won well at Goodwood last time, another big run could be on the cards.
Karl Burke’s Diamond New Bay looked in need of the run on debut at Thirsk last month and the daughter of New Bay is likely to step forward for the run. Having run well for a long time that day, she should be much stronger at the finish this time around.
Edward Bethell’s Native Instinct returned to winning ways with a smooth victory at Musselburgh last time out and a 3lb rise should be more than manageable. He was second off a 4lb higher mark last term and is therefore entitled to be in the mix here.
Naana’s Shadow has been in excellent form this year, winning four of her seven starts, and scored with plenty in hand at Goodwood last time out. An 8lb rise does make life harder but the improving filly is one to keep on side until her limitations are exposed.
Havana Sprite dead-heated for first in a Listed contest on her penultimate start and that form suggests she should be too good for rivals off a mark of 92 here. James Tate’s filly won in handicap company last time out and is expected to follow up here.
