Sweet William is a consistent performer in Group company and the form of his victory over Caballo De Mer looks very good, with that rival winning a French Group 1 next time. Victorious in the Doncaster Cup last season as well, he’s very much the one to beat here.
Yazin has improved with every run so far and he won a couple of novice races in very good style last autumn. He started the current campaign with an impressive success at Southwell and he looks more than ready to compete at Listed level.
Ombudsman is one of Europe’s best performers over 1m2f, winning both the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes and the Juddmonte International last summer. He was a comfortable winner at Meydan in March and anything over than victory would be very disappointing here.
Napa showed promise when fourth on debut and he took a big step forward to win well in a Class 2 at Newmarket earlier this month. That form looks rock-solid, as three previous winners have come out of the race, and that bodes well for a big run now up in grade.
Major Neigh Sayer got off the mark with an impressive victory in a Newmarket novice in October and looked in need of the run on handicap debut last month. It’s very interesting that connections have dropped him back significantly in trip and there’s loads of speed in the pedigree.
Trio won her maiden at Leicester in October, scoring by just over a length. She hasn’t adjusted to handicaps immediately but there were some positive signs at Kempton last time out. Running off the same mark here, the best is yet to come.
George Scott’s Zubaru has really turned a corner this year and he kicked off the campaign with an impressive victory at Doncaster earlier this month. He defied a 9lb rise to score again at Leicester a week later and further success could be on the cards, despite a 4lb rise.
El Matador managed to win a couple of novice races last spring and he came very close to getting off the mark in handicaps at Lingfield last month, where he finished second by a neck. Runner-up again at Redcar after that, the step up in trip can help him to go one better.
Travel Agent has been in good form since joining new trainer Adam Kirby and he managed to win a couple of all-weather handicaps at Wolverhampton and Lingfield last month. A narrow second on the turf last time out, a similar effort will put him in the mix here.
