An action packed Saturday proved to be fruitful for our followers’ as we smashed in a £214 Win Acca along with landing 5/6 of our Down Royal tips amongst much more – What A Day!

How We Did It

The first leg of the Acca was the Noel Meade trained Bel Ami De Sivola, a lightly raced hurdler who showed plenty of promise in his bumper. He jumped his hurdles like an absolute natural, literally did not touch a twig and he went on to score in very impressive fashion at Down Royal and could be a novice going places. He was tipped up at 11/8 which turned out to be a cracking price.

Next up was the Richard Fahey trained Growl (2/1) who is a horse that appreciates fast rattling ground. When this boy hears the hooves rattle, he enjoys himself. Graham Lee was booked to ride the sprinter and he came with a superbly timed challenge late on to beat Aeolus by a very short head. He really did get up by millimetres but there should be more improvement to come from this Fahey horse.

The final leg of the Acca was also at Down Royal; the Noel Meade trained Tiger Sam who won at Punchestown last time out and came here looking a progressive type off a nice weight. He went to the front a bit too soon we felt and Topper Thornton sad in behind him tanking with a couple of furlongs to go; we thought our bet was doomed. However, when push came to shove Sam find so much for pressure and he just held on in time! BOOM what a feeling, monster Acca landed!
