York horses for courses: Stradivarius and two others form 228-1 Friday accumulator 👌

Stradivarius winning the Goodwood Cup in 2018

Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running at York Racecourse on Friday. Best of luck if you have a play.

3.00 York

The Flying Ginger needs no introduction to York, being a former course and distance winner. That victory came last August off a rating of 86 and that was her second win the track. Her form tailed off a bit late last season but fresh might be the time to catch her. Big player at a good price and it will be a surprise if she doesn’t go off shorter.

3.35 York

Stradivarius is a familiar sight at York and his class may well prevail again in the Yorkshire Cup. He made a successful reappearance in this race in both 2018 and 2019, and is five wins from five at the track. Getting older now of course, he might not be the force of old, but his record here speaks for itself. Frankie Dettori takes the ride, of course.

5.20 York

Josie’s Kid is the only course winner in the final race of the day, a competitive Class 3 handicap. She won a nursery over this course and distance last October and arrives here in good nick after a close up third at Goodwood over the flying 5f two weeks ago. There should be more to come now.
