William Buick looks to peg back Oisin Murphy with 337-1 Monday accumulator

It’s a busy start to the week, with six meetings to look forward too on Monday. Leicester, Listowel, Hamilton, Warwick and Fairyhouse are the afternoon meetings, before Wolverhampton takes over for an evening of All-Weather action. We’ll have horse racing tips for each meeting, including a NAP of the Day!

William Buick currently sits nine winners behind Oisin Murphy in the flat jockeys championship, with the curtain coming down on October 16th. There’s still plenty of time for Buick to close the gap and he has a strong book of rides on Monday at Leicester. His strongest chances make into an 337-1 accumulator and can be bound below.

1.00 Leicester – Join Racing TV Now Fillies’ Nursery Handicap

Buick’s day begins on the Richard Hughes-trained Meydan Rose, who built on a modest debut by scoring at Chepstow in June. She failed to build on that effort when down the field at Lingfield subsequently, but the front two have subsequent franked the form.

She makes her nursery debut off a mark of 74, which looks potentially lenient, and Hughes can boast of a 24% strike-rate in the last two weeks. A return to a firmer surface is certainly in her favour and she’s entitled to be going close with Buick at the helm.

1.30 Leicester – British Stallion Studs EBF Kegworth Novice Stakes

A son of Shamardal, Mythical Dancer is beautifully bred, with his dam being a Listed winner. He was uneasy in the market ahead of his Thirsk debut earlier this month but despite missing the break, he surged home and got up in the nick of time.

He pulled clear with the right horse, given that Tuscan had already shed his maiden tag in a prior start. The form looks strong as a consequence and he looks just the type to be able to defy a penalty. Trained by Charlie Appleby, further improvement is expected and this is Buick’s best chance of the afternoon.

2.00 Leicester – Watch On Racing TV Fillies’ Handicap

She’s yet to strike in handicaps, but Evening Song arrives on the back of three promising efforts since joining Rae Guest from Marco Botti. Latterly, she finished third at Salisbury when upped to the mile, doing best of those who were held up with a late challenge.

She can race off a pound lower today, which is handy, and she’s unexposed over today’s mile trip. Good to firm ground is seemingly her ideal surface and if she’s able to converse energy in the opening exchanges, she’ll be bang there in the closing stages.

3.10 Leicester – Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap

He’s not the most consistent of horses, but every looks right for Nomadic Empire to run a huge race. He went down by less than a length at Doncaster three starts ago and two subsequent runs at York have been better than the bare results suggest.

He was stretched by six furlongs on the latter occasion and a return to five furlongs today is an obvious positive. Conditions should be perfect for him here, as he’s run well on a firmer surface in the past, and this sort of track will play to his strengths. All his best runs have come in smaller fields and you’d be disappointed if Buick couldn’t galvanise him to go close.
