Jannah Rose Stakes

The Group 3 Jannah Rose Stakes has attracted a field of seven runners and St James’s Palace Stakes-winning trainer George Boughey is sending Della Pace over. She was narrowly denied in a Listed contest last time but will need to step forward on that evidence.

Aidan O’Brien is the man of the moment after his exceptional performance at Ascot last week and he runs Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Cameo, who should fare better than she did at Epsom. Joseph O’Brien runs Rebel Moon and Sinmara, with Dylan Browne McMonagle riding the former.

Noel Meade’s Caught U Sleeping won a Listed race over course and distance last time out and that success came at the expense of La Fogata. It’s the Ballydoyle runner Cameo who catches the eye and she can go close here, as the conditions went against her at Epsom and the better ground will suit.

William Haggas runs one at Carlisle

Carlisle has been a happy hunting ground for William Haggas so far this season and he has has 75 per cent strike-rate at the track so far this season. Three winners from four runners certainly isn’t to be sniffed at and he sends Albaydaa over for their feature Listed contest on Wednesday.

She bolted up when winning a Wolverhampton maiden back in November and returned to winning ways in a course and distance handicap last time out. The best is yet to come from this daughter of Pinatubo but she will need to step forward in order to compete at this level.

Beaten Royal Ascot horses to follow

Touleen had a troubled passage through the race in the Coronation Stakes last week but Precise was always going to win that race. Owen Burrows’ filly surely has a big prize in her however and she looks well up to winning a Group 1, if she can avoid the star Ballydoyle filly.

Trawlerman lost absolutely nothing in defeat when narrowly denied by Scandinavia in the Gold Cup. That was one of the best races we’ve seen in years and he’s entitled to improve for the run. Despite the fact that he’s now an eight-year-old, the talented veteran should be up to winning races this season.
