Mullins at the double?

Patrick Mullins won aboard the Willie Mullins-trained In A Sonnet at Sligo last month, his only ride at the track so far this season. It’s interesting that he heads there for two rides on Tuesday and it would be no surprise if he manages to complete the double.

Private Policy represents the Nigel Slevin yard and he got off the mark over hurdles at the fifth time of asking at Punchestown last month. That narrow success has earned a 6lb rise in the weights but he’s lightly raced enough to suggest that there could be more to come over longer trips.

Willie Mullins is 5/9 with his bumper runners so far this season and Patrick will be on board Tacograph, who finished third on her debut at Punchestown in April. Improvement will be needed but she’s entitled to find some. Don’t rule out a big run.

Fallon’s the man at Salisbury

Cieren Fallon has a 67 per cent strike-rate at Salisbury in 2026, with four winners from six rides. He heads to the Wiltshire track for one ride on Tuesday and the horse in question has promise.

Clive Cox’s Bold Shout is related to several winners and he ran with credit when fourth at Newbury on debut. He should be much sharper on this occasion, with the benefit of that previous run under his belt, and the step up in trip is likely to suit.

Royal Ascot pick

Don’t rule out Dubai Future in the Ascot Gold Cup, especially from an each-way perspective. He managed to get the better of Sweet William in a Group 3 at Sandown last time out and wasn’t disgraced when third behind the hugely impressive Trawlerman in last year’s race.
