Rare Gigginstown Flat runner

It’s not too often you will see a Gigginstown runner on the Flat but All Talk will make his debut for trainer Stephen Thorne in the opening 7f maiden at Listowel (1.47). The son of Blue Point cost 50,000 guineas at two and is a half-brother to Vauntingly (Listed-placed), Hype (6.7f-1m2f winner) and Diamond Ranger (7f/11.4f  winner); His dam is a half-sister to 5f/6f Group 1 winner Kingsgate Native and if any money comes for this lad, it would be interesting for sure.

Expensive debutant makes his debut at Southwell

Karl Burke will unleash Wilcox Bridge in the opening mile maiden at Southwell (4.20). A very expensive purchase at 800,000 guineas, the son of Wootton Bassett is a half-brother to eight winners including the top-class multiple Group 1 winner Ghaiyyath, Zhukova who landed a US Grade 1 and the talented Duraji. His dam won the Irish 1,000 Guineas and Burke knows how to have them ready first time out.

Trainer to follow at Listowel

Although better known for his jumps exploits, Henry de Bromhead has a brilliant 33 per cent return at Listowel on the Flat in the last five years, returning with five winners from 15 runners, and he runs two at the track on Tuesday.

First up is Victory Tip in the mile handicap (4.41), and the top weight has a chance if near his best. He ran no race in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot but the Curragh debut maiden winner ran very well in a rated contest on his penultimate outings and is respected on Irish handicap debut.

De Bromhead’s other runner is Huff’n’puff in the closing 1m6f handicap (5.16). A winner of a Roscommon maiden in May, he ran well on handicap debut at Down Royal and should be thereabouts.
