Trainer with 80% strike-rate with juveniles at Beverley runs one on Wednesday

Beverley Racecourse

It is always of huge interest when Roger Varian sends juvenile runners up to Beverley. It’s a rare occurrence, just five in the last five seasons but those have returned four winners and a second. In Varian’s career, he has sent thirteen to the track which have yielded eight winners, three second and a third, a remarkable record for a level stakes profit of +£16.65.

Beverley is one of three meetings on Wednesday afternoon with Yarmouth and Salisbury hosting the others. They hand over to Gowran Park, Ffos Las and Kempton for a busy day of action for our free horse racing tips.

Mystery Fox has already had three starts but has generally been progressive through them as he learns. He failed to settle at Newmarket last time out but still stepped up on his previous runs, He was a big eyecatcher for many at Chelmsford on his second start when he looked to be travelling all over them so he clearly has a big engine.

Eoin Walsh is an interesting booking. He is 6/19 for the yard so far in 2021 for a level stakes profit of +£11.56. The Varian yard are in sparkling form at present themselves with six winners on the bounce over the weekend. Even those who aren’t winning have been running well so they are very much a yard to follow at present.

A brother to Golden Goal who was runner-up in the Group 2 Godolphin Mile back in March, he is bred to be a smart performer. This step up in trip for his fourth start has the potential to see him take another step forward on Wednesday if taking after his brother.
