After a fantastic weekend of action at Cheltenham, a new week kicks off on Monday! We’re building towards cards at Ascot and Haydock, with the latter hosting the Grade 1 Betfair Chase.
Leicester, Plumpton, Wolverhampton, Dundalk and Kempton all host cards on an action-packed start to the week. We’ll have horse racing tips for all five, but we’ll be focusing on Wolverhampton in this article.
One mystery trainer has been enjoying a fruitful campaign at the venue in 2020 and he fields just a sole representative there on Monday. Find out all the details below!
If you had backed Tony Carroll’s Wolverhampton runners blind in 2020, you’d be in a massive profit of £46.20 to level stakes. His 14% strike-rate from 120 runners has yielded quite the return and he brings just the one representative to the All-Weather venue on Monday.
That horse has run just once for Carroll since joining him in October, and there’s a huge amount to like about his chances!
Previously trained by Mark Loughnane, DOCTOR NUNO showed some ability in four starts for that stable. He left Loughnane after a heavy defeat over the mile here on handicap debut, joining Tony Carroll three months later.
That change of scenery clearly had a positive effect, as dropped to seven furlongs, he finished a clear second to a runaway winner here last month. He was given plenty to do but finished strongly into the runners-up spot.
He’s edged up a pound for that performance, but he remains totally unexposed for these connections and is kept at the seven-furlong distance. The best is surely yet to come and this certainly isn’t a strong race for the level.
If he can build upon that promising stable debut, he may prove tough to beat at very tempting odds.
