Trainer with 100% Ffos Las record in 2021 sends one runner there on Wednesday

It’s a 314-mile round trip for Andrew Balding to send his runners to Ffos Las so it is not a common hunting ground for the yard. The careful picking of which horses to send to the Welsh track have rewarded the stable with a perfect record of three runners and three winners so far in 2021.

There are five other cards on Wednesday with racing at Yarmouth, Beverley and Salisbury in the afternoon. Gowran Park and Kempton join Ffos Las for the evening racing and we have free horse racing tips for all six meetings.

Ha’Penny makes the trip to Ffos Las with the task of trying to maintain Andrew Balding’s 100% record at the track this year. She showed promise on her debut at Chepstow, very green in the early stages, finding herself outpaced. Doing the best of her work late in the day, she kept on well to finish fourth and should relish the step up in trip.

The Balding yard wouldn’t get a huge number of first time up winners, tending to bring their juveniles on steadily. As such, a big jolt of improvement is expected on this second attempt. The bare form of that race isn’t the strongest but she would be a confident pick if it were rerun tomorrow with that experience behind her.

She is a half-sister to three winners with Kerry Lee’s smart two-mile hurdler Magic Dancer being the best known of those. The King’s Steed is another half-sibling and while he has never been the classiest performer, he is a nine time winner and this filly should have little trouble getting her head in front sooner rather than later.
