Trainer who’s 5/5 at Ayr in 2021 bids for 62-1 Monday course double

Ayr Racecourse

Monday’s racing comes from five meetings, as we look to kick off the week in style. Ayr, Nottingham, Worcester, Windsor and Ripon are the hosts and we’ll have horse racing tips for all of them, including a NAP of the Day and Accumulator tips.

Perhaps the most interesting statistic for Monday’s racing comes from Ayr, however. Tristan Davidson has a superb strike-rate overall, but Ayr has been his happiest hunting ground. He’s sent five horses there in 2021 and all five have returned to the winner’s enclosure. That 100% strike-rate has yielded a level stakes profit of £10.67 and he has two huge chances on Monday. They make into an 62-1 double and all the details are below.

The first of his chances is Toolmaker, who was previously trained by David Flood. He failed to score in fifteen attempts for that trainer, but he signed off for his previous connections with a close second at Kempton off a basement rating.

That was a career-best effort in terms of the figures and he was well supported on his stable debut at Hamilton last month. He could only manage sixth, but he showed up well for a long way and is now three pounds lower.

He does need a bit extra, especially kept on the turf, but he’s still lightly-raced on this surface. This is a very modest affair and he’ll struggle to find few better opportunities than this to open his account.

3.20 Ayr – Book For QTS Ladies Night Handicap

Unbeaten in course and distance handicaps at Ayr, Pearl Of Qatar shares her trainer’s strong record at this venue. She gained the most recent of those successes two starts ago and she could be called the winner a long way from home.

She tanked into that contest and only needed a hands and heels ride to scoot clear in the final 110 yards. A subsequent defeat at Carlisle is best ignored, as she ultimately didn’t get home over the seven-furlong distance.

A return to six furlongs is obviously in her favour, as is a return to Ayr. She loves it here and a mark of 79 remains within range if judged on her victory two starts ago. She’ll get a strong pace to aim at thanks to Look At Louis and she’s an obvious player.
